Baby Safety - What You Need To Know
Baby Safety, the first concern of parents: A newly born baby is very much
protected by the new parents. They are always very much scared that some danger may befall their baby. Home is
the safest place for your baby, yet your baby’s safety has to be ensured there too.
The very first thing you have to do is not letting anyone who smokes or taking drug near the baby, even if it is
your spouse. It is a must that you should keep all the doors locked when you and your baby are the only ones at
home.
If you live in a big city this becomes a crucial factor to ensure your and your bay’s safety. Home safety
equipments come in handy always. Measures like closing the electric sockets, locking doors, windows, cupboards etc.
have to be taken to make sure your baby is protected from every little thing that can hurt him/her.
Keep watch of your pet if you have one at home, so that it does not harm your baby. Sometimes even if they are
gentle with you, they may behave differently towards your baby. They cause some other danger like allergy to your
baby or even diarrhea if your baby happens to touch its unclean body.
Baby’s have to sleep on their backs to avoid crib death, so make sure your baby sleeps on his/her back. Crib
deaths occur when small babies get suffocated while they are asleep. Loose blanket should not be left in the crib
or any toys since it is a place to sleep and not to play.
There should be fences thick enough to prevent the baby from escaping, slipping or falling down from the crib.
Get a walker when your baby has started to crawl. It will help him/her walk in the right time. Steps in your house
have to be fitted with a gate and locked to prevent the baby from climbing and falling down.
While keeping your baby modeling safe, these gates can
also serve the purpose of keeping your pets away from your baby. Keeping the baby away from any sharp edge of table
or desk or any other furniture becomes important. Anything hard, hot or sharp has to be put away from their
reach.
There must be a proper place for your valuable belongings otherwise they might become your baby’s playthings and
vanish. The ways to protect your baby is inexhaustible. One last thing but of course not the least, is to keep away
small particles from your baby’s reach as he or she is likely to swallow it which would seriously affect him or
her.
